First of all, I love this book. Dewey rules. I needed a copy that had some sort of standard pagination for my dissertation. I was taking references from an anthology before.

That is not what I got. I got an made-to-order Amazon warehouse offprint. There are no margins, the text is not center justified, the paragraphs breaks are barely visible--it looks awful, and it makes it very difficult to read. Beyond the aesthetics, it is littered with typos: errant commas, misspelled words, missing periods. the most I've found on one page is four. FOUR typos on one page! Y'all just can't be bothered, eh? It looks like the book was just a poorly bound word document written by a freshman.

Amazon should be embarrassed to sell this product; it is deeply insulting to have to have received this mess of a book under the pretense of acceptability. Although I suspect that it wasn't printed under the pretense of acceptability, y'all were just trying to save a buck.

I'm tired of getting these miserable excuses for books and I'm tired of the godforsaken Amazon hegemony in the publishing industry.

Oh yeah, and treat your workers better, Bezos. You lousy robber-baron oligarch.

A good read, sadly I didn't get much out of it that I had not previously gotten from past classes. Not for beginners, but definitely worth a read.
Classic!
Too many typos and misspelled words.
Written over 90 years ago but really relevant and readable. Loved his description of the problem of standing straight based on the work he had with F. Matthias Alexander, founder of the Alexander technique. I'm not quite sure what people who haven't had lessons in the technique will make of this part.
A great book.
I was extremely disappointed by the extensive number of typos on every page. Pantianos Classics prints on demand of purchase and demonstrates little quality control. Otherwise, John Dewey's Human Nature and Conduct remains a classic of American Pragmatism and offers a prescient treatise concerning the intersection of morality and human constraints in light of the growing interdisciplinary scholarship on human emotion. I recommend this book, but not this publisher.
This review pertains to the Digireads.com Book copyright 2012. The subject matter is dry, often deep, and Dewey's style of writing (common of the period) exacerbates the difficulty of following his train of thought. None of which is the fault of the publisher's. However, there are way too many typos/misspelled words that frequently interfere with any hope of understanding what is being said. If you are interested in reading Dewey, select an offering from another publisher.
