I am currently in the process of reading this book for the THIRD time and I still find it amazing! EVERY time I go through it I find something new, something interesting, something deeper! I had a really hard time putting this book down the first couple of reads because of the depths and heights to which the book takes the reader. The characters are well rounded and the plot is simplistically complicated! Like a delicate spider's web. Don't think you know the way it will all end up because just when you think you know where the book is going.....Wham!Product details

As stated before, this is a long book. That didn't deter me because I believe that long books are the best. A Memior of Love doesn't disappoint. After so many pages, I feel like I know the characters, and the beauty of the author's writing (Jessiqua Wittman) is that she makes you feel what each character is feeling. I catch myself thinking that these people were real. Something tickles my mind during the day, and I think, "Who told me that? Oh, yeah, it was in the book."
It's a rough world, though. If you're looking for a happy story where nothing bad occurs, don't read this. It's tough, rough, and unfair. Sometimes I found myself squinting because I didn't want to experience what was happening but I just had to know. I liked the book for this. It's more real life than we normally see in Christian fiction. I will be reading more from Jessiqua!
I really enjoyed this book! I normally do not have the patience to read fiction but I am glad that I made an exception in this case. Most books that deal with Gods kingdom attempt to sugar coat their content. That is not the case here. The story is told in such a way that it is not light and fluffy and yet not too heavy. I have been reading this book with my significant other and it has certainly helped to strengthen our relationship with each other and God as well. The discussions that we have had are thought provoking to say the least. We plan to read the rest of this series as soon as possible. This book has been a huge blessing in the two relationships that matter the most to me!
A Memoir of Love, by Jessiqua Wittman is one of the most fascinating books of our time! Not only is it a great work of art but it is also a fascinating allegorical tale.
I had originally purchased this book because I have been a life long friend of this new author. I Am so GLAD I did!!!! I love the way that it is written as if I were reading a journal or diary. By the end of the book the reader feels as if Love has become a best friend who has shared her life's story over a few cups of hot chocolate
Jess did a wonderful job of not "preaching" through the book! Rather the actions of her characters speak loudly of its wholesome themes. These themes of loyalty, strength of character, love, integrity and honesty are demonstrated through the book. While there are parts of the story that I don't like to dwell on, Jess did a remarkable job of making her characters REAL! Each of her characters has tough decisions to make, a quandary of sorts. Sometimes the characters made horrible mistakes that wound up hurting themselves or their family members. This made the characters someone I could relate to in my humanity.
Too oftentimes in a "Christian" culture we avoid all the nasty realness of life. This has set up an entire generation to believe that once we stumble or fall in our walk with God all is over and we are done for. Several times through the book Jess shows us that neither falling or failing is final. Christian or not, this is a good wholesome book for older teens and adults! So get comfy in your favorite place, and visit the land of Marna, you will be glad you did!
I will start by saying that I am just over half-way through this book. So far, I have greatly enjoyed it. Jessiqua Wittman knows how to wrap her reader's mind up in the plot and carry him along on the adventure. The reader rejoices in victories, mournes in losses, cries out in confusion in misuderstandings, and feels every emotion with the characters. Closing this book is an exercise in self-discipline! The content warning in the begining of the book should be read and heeded. As a college student, I have found many of the issues in the book are extremely relevant to my life. Wittman's approach has helped me a great deal as I think through them. The issues are not relevant only to my age bracket though. Any person could thoroughly enjoy this book. (Exception I would caution parents to preview this book before allowing Jr. high or high school young people to read it. Some of them would be ready to think about the issues presented, but many might do better simply having a talk with Mom or Dad.) That being said, read this book! Think about what Wittman is communicating through it. Enjoy!
